Questions
Straight answers, in plain language.
Is this only for people who want to retire?
No. Retirement is one direction among many. People come here because they want to work less, step back from transactions, move toward referral-focused work, transition a team or brokerage, leave real estate entirely, or simply redesign how they work. Wanting something different is not the same as wanting out.
Do I have to be a veteran agent for this to apply?
No. What matters is that you have built something — relationships, knowledge, systems, a network, a reputation — not how many years it took.
What is the difference between the free guide and the handbook?
The guide is a short read that lays out the possibilities. The handbook is a guided framework: it walks you through what you have built, what you want to preserve or release, what depends on you personally, and how to choose the one decision that comes next.
What is the Legacy Value Index™?
It is a structured way of thinking about the forms of value a career produces beyond production volume. It is not a scientifically validated instrument, not a business valuation, and not a projection of future income.
Will you tell me what to do?
No. We diagnose before prescribing, and the decision stays yours. A clean, complete exit is treated as seriously as staying involved or preserving income.
Can I transfer my real estate clients to another agent?
Clients are not property and their trust does not automatically transfer. What you can do is thoughtfully introduce clients and referral relationships to another professional who then has the opportunity to earn their trust.
Can I still receive referral income if I move out of state?
Potentially. Referral compensation can depend on factors including licensing status, brokerage policies, applicable laws, the structure of the agreement, and the future activity involved. The Exit Strategy™ can help you understand the business and relationship questions that deserve exploration, with appropriate brokerage, legal, tax, or licensing guidance where necessary.
Can a referral arrangement continue for several years?
Some agents negotiate multi-year referral arrangements when transitioning a book of business. The structure, percentages, duration, and responsibilities vary and must comply with applicable brokerage, licensing, contractual, and legal requirements.
Do I have to leave real estate completely?
No. Relocation may lead to a referral-only model, reduced production, production in a new market, continued industry involvement, or a complete exit. The purpose is to identify what fits your future.
Is this a recruiting pitch for a brokerage?
No. No brokerage is the predetermined answer here, and nothing on this site is a recruiting offer.
What happens after I reach out?
A person reads what you sent and replies, usually within two business days. There is no scoring system, no automated recommendation, and no obligation.
The Exit Strategy™ provides education and guidance. It is not legal, tax, accounting, brokerage-compliance, or investment advice, and it is not a business valuation. Nothing here predicts or guarantees future income. Decisions about your license, your brokerage, your clients, and your business remain yours, and are best confirmed with your own licensed advisors.
